The ias full form Indian Administrative Service. The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is one of the three All India Services, and it is responsible for governance at a national level. The IAS was established in 1919 under the British Raj to fill top positions in the British administration. It was created by merging two pre-existing services: the Imperial Civil Service and the Provincial Civil Service.
As you may know, the Indian Administrative Service is one of the highest ranking civil services in India. The service has a total strength of about 3400 officers. They are employed by the Union Government and work in different parts of India, with their headquarters at New Delhi.
